Wise Drive-In
Railroad Ave., off E. Main St. just outside downtown Wise, Va.
years of operation: 1946-57+
currently: small, aging strip shopping center (row of recycling bins marks the old screen's location)

Opened by Earl B. Mullins as the Mullins Open Air Theatre with a combination of outdoor seating and 5 or 6 dozen parking spaces, by the mid-'50s it was enlarged to about 200 cars. It was also renamed Wise Drive-In.
