Built on the site of the old city airport; operator was E.E. Ours. Historical note: an anecdote in Patsy, the biography of country-music legend and Winchester girl Patsy Cline, tells of the rising star performing between features atop the Royal's snack bar -- and being booed by the locals!

Below is part of a 1971 aerial photo showing the drive-in (at southeast corner of cloverleaf). Apparently it was spared being razed for an onramp in the mid-'60s thanks to the site's high elevation above the Interstate.
