Photos taken during the drive-in's 1949 construction; a Confederate battle flag was later painted onto the back of the screen tower. Thanks to Bo Bohon for sending these in. The two men in the bottom photo are the Dixie's founders, Bo's father Waller Bohon and uncle Eugene Creasy. The two also started the Star Vue Drive-In in Rocky Mount, and Bohon went on to found the Queen D-I in Salem.
