Skyview Drive-In
Lee Highway (US 11 west), Marion, Va.
years of operation: 1949-85
currently: Skyview Equipment Co.

The original Skyview was built right at the corner of the old US 11 and Adwolfe Rd., but was wiped out by I-81 circa 1960. It was rebuilt a few hundred yards away at a location on the new US 11, which ran south of the interstate. After closing, the marquee and screen tower were preserved by the replacement business, which incorporated the latter into its showroom/office building. An I-81 landmark for nearly four decades; look for it when traveling west of Marion!
