Airport Drive-In
Low Gap Highway (VA 89) south of Galax, Va., 1.5 miles north of the Blue Ridge Parkway
capacity: 200 cars
years of operation: 1951-87+
currently: private residence, but major structures remain intact, including screen (1998)

Built just up the road from the former Galax Airport, which is long gone now. The drive-in survived from 1983 onward by running X-rated product. Currently, Airport Video operates by the roadside near the marquee.
