Coswell Drive-In
end of Jones St. (off VA 131 east), Appomattox, Va.
capacity: 146 cars
years of operation: 1952-80 or 81
currently: screen and snack bar left rotting; lot used to store copper and PVC tubing by adjacent well-drilling business (1997)

Founded by John C. Caldwell, manager of the town's Lee Theatre; name "Coswell" was chosen in a contest, for reasons one could only guess at.
