The first drive-in in Frederick County, built by Pennsylvania-based Modern Theatres Inc. for $90,000 and originally advertised as having a 700-car capacity, although later reference sources put the capacity at around 450. A huge neon marquee, emblazoned with about a thousand light bulbs, was visible from both highways leading to the drive-in.
Below is part of a 1974 aerial photo showing the drive-in's remains. Masser's Motel and Restaurant are shown across the highway, to the north.
